Overview |
 | No hotel can compete with the comforts of a home. Yet we , at Mahal Khandela assure an open arm hospitality with relaxed elegance, unobtrusive and efficient services - all in the tradition of a Rajput noble's house. This tradition was laid about five hundred years earlier by our 15th ancestor Raja Raisal of Khandela, a prominent grandee in the court of Emperor Akbar, when he conquered the territory of Khandela in 1567 AD,the present country seat of the family. Mahal Khandela was town home of Rajkumar Jait Singhji,14th descendent of Raja Raisal and a cadet son of Raja Sajjan Singhji, the last ruling chief of Khandela before the agrarian reforms were applied. Thakur Hanwat Singh, the present incumbent now has Mahal Khandela, a hotel with the ambience of a lived-in home of a Rajput family. It is built in the traditional medieval-style,a synthesis of Hindu and Mughal architecture in high relief reposse red and pink stone. | | It has specious 27 rooms comprising 10 double and 17 twin-bedded. Out of these 6 are deluxe and 21 standard. The rooms are very well ventilated with ACs and telephone connections and embellished with engraved stone balconies. The rooms have large attached bathrooms with hot and cold running water. All the floors have large and wide verandahs to relax and enjoy sun without its harshness. A big couryard with a waterfall for relaxed al fresco meals. A big terrace for sun bathing and evening open air meals and bar-be-cue and folk music. | | The hotel has a fair-sized swimming pool to soak in after a tiring day. A lawn for leisurely tea or coffee and plenty of greenery around to sooth the tired eyes. MAHAL KHANDELA offers a well appointed bar and a dinning room serving Rajput, Indian and Chinese cuisine. Organic food and Ayurvedic panchkarma therapies for rejuvenation are also available. We urge that you make MAHAL KHANDELA your first choice for stay whenever you visit the Pink City. We will not disappoint you. |
